#DMBB
Welcome to the Devil's Minion Big Bang event of 2026. This event is a collaborative project between fan artists and writers to celebrate and explore the relationship spanning eternity between The Vampire Chronicles' Daniel Molloy and The Vampire Armand. Currently: In the interest check phase.
You might be asking, well, what is a Big Bang? A Big Bang is a large collaborative creation challenge between writers and artists who will work in small teams to write and illustrate a fanfiction together! Creation will take place over multiple months, culminating in the posting and publication of all work on the same day. Going off with a Bang!

// 01 : While this event is 18+, there is no skill level requirement, and all are welcome to join!// 02 : For ease of coordination and communication, all participants will be required to join our Discord Server. We will not consider your application for any position valid until you have joined our Discord; if you do not join, you will not be able to participate. The link to the Discord will be accessible once the Sign Up Form has been completed.// 03 : All fanworks must be new and unpublished. An existing WIP is okay, but the details of it should not have been previously widely shared on sites such as Twitter/Tumblr/Wattpad/Archive Of Our Own (AO3). We ask that works for the Bang not be tied to any existing, published works. This would include prequel or sequel ideas for an already published piece. The intent of this rule is, in part, to grant anonymity during the summary selection process. If an idea has been posted to Twitter/otherwise shared on social media but can not easily be tied back to you (we leave this to your discretion), this is acceptable.
All fanworks produced must be the direct result of human work and intention. Devil’s Minion BB will NOT accept art or writing created by generative models, or any other program generally classified under “AI art” or “AI writing”.
// 04 : One of the three social media accounts are required for both participation and posting—an AO3 is an additional account required for Writers. The event is being hosted on Twitter/X, Tumblr, and Bluesky along with AO3 and will need to be sharable to the event’s social media accounts for entry. If you do not have an AO3 account, please let a moderator know so that we may send you an invitation.// 05 : MATURE, EXPLICIT, and DEAD DOVE pieces are allowed. We also remind you that you MUST BE 18+ and verifiable on social media in order to participate. This is strictly enforced, and you will be immediately expelled from the event if found to be falsifying this information. If the idea will be dark please check the #content-warnings channel on Discord how best to tag your pitch. If it is not on there please reach out to the mods. Just because it’s not on the list does not mean it isn’t allowed. We might just not have thought of it!// 06 : Works created for the bang should not be posted prior to the assigned posting date(s). Nothing formal should be posted to AO3/Twitter/Tumblr/etc. prior to the end of the event.
// 07 : Every work must be tagged appropriately. For a list of triggers, please see the #content-warnings on Discord. Listed triggers may be explored in works, and all must be properly tagged in both summary submissions and the works themselves. If it is not on the list, reach out to the mods. Just because it’s not on the list does not mean it isn’t allowed.// 08 : It is completely okay to drop out of the event—we understand that life happens and things change. However, we do ask that you reach out to your moderators to communicate such for the benefit of your team.
Note: Creators who drop out and whose teammates wish to continue: the teammate’s current work may be used in a ‘reverse bang’-style and submitted to pitch-hitters for continuation. We cannot guarantee that the pinch hitter will not have an idea similar to the original idea/summary.
Drop Deadline: The drop deadline will be March 20th, 2027, at the end of check-in 3. Dropping from the bang after this date may affect eligibility in participation in future Bangs, so please communicate with your mods if and when concerns arise. We don’t do this to punish participants but instead to respect the time and effort of all team members.
// 09 : Having an event-assigned Beta is entirely optional for Writers. We do require that works be self-edited at the very least—outside betas are acceptable as well.// 010 : Pinch-hitters will be pitched ideas that need to be picked up and have their own ideas pitched back to the remaining team members. Pinch-hitters will receive a one-week extension to their deadlines, including final posting.// 011 : Should anyone come into the event with a predetermined team, please indicate such in the appropriate section of the sign-up forms. You may also reach out to the moderators immediately for placement if you’ve forgotten to put it into the initial sign-up form. Aside from certain exceptions, teams cannot be rearranged once announced, so please mind the deadlines listed in the schedule above.// 012 : We want everyone to feel comfortable throughout the duration of this event. Please reach out to a moderator at any time should you have questions or concerns.
Participants will be beholden to the following Devil’s Minion BB Rules of Conduct or face being dropped/expelled from the event. There will be a ‘strike’ system, in which a participant will be warned twice (2 times) before being dropped for breaches of the code of conduct.
Following all Discord Server Rules (can be found in the Discord Server Rule Channel)
Respect all team members even when not in the server
Bang works are a collaborative team effort—there is give and take in the work and team members should not be treated as ‘free commissions’ for ideas. To that end, no team member can ‘dictate’ how the other team members go about creating their pieces. Opinions and suggestions are encouraged, keeping in mind kind and respectful language.
Be communicative with team members—we understand that some people talk more than others, but please make sure to respond to team members’ questions. It is also encouraged (though not required) to post WIPs/progress updates to your team channel/DMs—your team is there to support and encourage you, after all!
In order to respect the time and work of all team members, if you do not meet check-in requirements without communication to both mods AND your team, you will be considered as dropped from the event. You will be contacted once per day for up to five (5) days prior to being dropped via Discord DMs to allow for explanation.

// 01 : How does a BB work? After sign-ups close, Writers will submit a short summary of an idea they wish to write for the event. These summaries will then be anonymized and made available to Artists and Betas, who will select their partners based on the information provided in the summaries. Mods will match teams together, who will then work as partners on their pieces for the duration of the event, including meeting their check-in deadlines, until final posting.// 02 : What kind of content is allowed? This Big Bang will permit both NSFW content and Dark content. All content must be appropriately tagged. A content warning list will be posted in the server.// 03 : How do I enter?
